The purpose of an “IDOARRT” is to lead an effective meeting or group process, with everyone's nose pointing in the same direction from the very start! The power of IDOARRT is that it enables all participants to understand every aspect of the meeting ahead, so they can relax and trust their time is being put to good use. The acronym stands for intention, desired outcome, agenda, rules, roles and responsibilities and time.
An “IDOARRT” also gives participants a chance to contribute, to raise any requests, concerns or additions to the plan. It enables you to clarify all assumptions before the meeting and build a common agreement that fits the needs and expectations of everyone.
Why is this happening, what is the driving motivation, aim, want and need or call for action prompting this workshop/session.

Some tangible, achievable goals, take aways or learning outcomes.
Propose an agenda for the meeting and make sure you check that there are no items that are unnecessary or left out.
Clarify your rules as a facilitator for running the meeting, and ask for consent to move forward with everyone on the same page. Depending on the length of the meeting, you can include the participants in adding rules.
Roles and Responsibilities
Clarify the roles in the group/ team. Often the most important part of this is clarifying your own role in leading the meeting and creating consensus around who will be contributing in which way.
Clarify and reach consensus on the time span of the meeting.
If you reach the end of your time with out without finishing the meeting make sure you check in with all participants and give them the option to leave or continue.
